Who Am I?

I'm a person who's still interested in my work after a quarter century of doing it! My background is varied, but lately has focused primarily on internet and desktop applications using ASP and Visual FoxPro. I also use C#, ASP.NET, XML/XSL, and other current technologies. Check out my Resume/Curriculum Vitae and Personal Bio pages as well.

I'm a Microsoft Certified Professional, having passed the tests for Visual FoxPro, Windows, and Windows Architecture a while back. At this point, it is time to bring those exams more current so I'm working on the next round. I expect to sit for the exams for the MCSD.NET certification this fall.

I was recognized as a Microsoft MVP in Visual FoxPro for my contributions to online forums in 1995/1996/1997.

I started working with computers back in the late 1970's while I was attending community college. I got my first taste of programming working with HP programmable calculators, and then purchased a Commodore 64. I liked it so much I bought all of the peripherals including the tape drive, monitor, modem, and a daisy wheel printer. They came in very handy when it came time to write papers for college. I finished an AA in general liberal arts, then continued to finish a BME in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota.

That was a while ago, but I've never stopped wanting to grow and learn. Today, my husband Steve and I are building a house on 20 acres of oak woodlands in the Santa Ana Mountains of Southern California. I work remotely as much as possible so I can keep an eye on the ranch. The new office isn't ready yet, and won't be until the house is finished.

In the meantime, I'm working out of a mobile office trailer that was built for remote assignments for clients. It is wired for satellite internet, and has its own solar power supply and bank of batteries. Even in the wilderness I stay connected via the internet -- and I stay connected to my clients!

Over the span of my adult life, I have been committed to work and to service to my clients. If you decide to contract with me, you will find that I am accessible whenever I can be. I am committed to staying up to date on technology without pushing the bleeding edge. And I keep my office equipped so I can support the needs of my clients wherever I am and wherever they are.
